Der Mythos Alan Freed als der angeblich erste weisse R&B-Disc-Jockey findet bereits Hunter Hancock an der Westküste mit R&B-Scheiben im Radio und auch vor allem die frühen schwarzen R&B-"platter-spinner" sollten auch mal zumindest namentlich genannt werden.
